stentfix OTSC® enables single session EDGE procedure
stentfix OTSC® System prevents stent migration of LAMS in 100% of cases, enabling a technical success of 95% in single-session EDGE
Key findings
- The use of the stentfix OTSC® enabled EDGE in a single session, without the need to postpone ERCP for 1-2 weeks due to the risk of stent migration
- No LAMS (lumen-apposing metal stent) migration occurred
- Technical success of 95% of single-session EDGE, 1 case was postponed for 1 week and ERCP then performed without LAMS migration
Study details
- 20 patients (90% RYGB, 10% mini-bypass)
- Indications were bile duct stones (60%), cholangitis (25%) and biliary pancreatitis (15%)
- At the time of publication, the fistula after stent retrieval was treated in most cases (70 % n=14/20) with OTSC®, in 10 % without closure, and in 20% of cases, endoscopic closure is planned
- 2 adverse events (10%): postprocedural pain and post ERCP pancreatitis were reported over a median follow-up of 102 days
