Tuebingen, March 26, 2025. Ovesco Endoscopy AG, a leader in endoluminal surgical procedures, announces a partnership with NMGN Medical to enhance its ScopeCaps product family. This collaboration introduces cutting-edge technology for the endoscopic removal of long foreign bodies, offering new solutions for medical professionals worldwide.

The instrument, developed by NMGN Medical in the Netherlands, allows for precise alignment and secure fixation of particularly long foreign bodies, such as those exceeding 5 cm and with potential sharp edges. This significantly reduces the risk of jamming during removal from the gastrointestinal tract, providing advantages over conventional methods, especially when dealing with long, cumbersome objects. Annually, there are over 130,000 cases involving such challenging foreign bodies worldwide.

Ovesco has acquired intellectual property rights and will integrate this technology into clinical practice globally. This addition to the ScopeCaps product family equips physicians with advanced tools to enhance patient safety and treatment efficiency. Ovesco’s ScopeCaps are a range of endoscopic caps designed to improve endoscopic procedures such as the removal of foreign bodies or the facilitation of treatment with argon plasma coagulation.
