FTRD

New Zealand experience adds to FTRD® evidence base

A New Zealand, multicenter study of 51 cases across the upper and lower GI tract showed high R0 resection rates

Key findings

  • FTRD® was used in 51 cases for both upper and lower GI lesions
  • Technical success was achieved in 86% (n=44)
  • R0 resection was achieved in 82% of cases (n=31)

Study details

  • Of the 51 patients, 25% were male and 65% were female, with a median age of 63.5
  • 46/51 cases were colonic, 5/51 were in the upper gastrointestinal tract
  • Of the colonic cases, 20 were appendiceal orifice lesions, of which 3 experienced appendicitis (2 managed conservatively, 1 surgically)
