Gastroduodenal FTRD® – Case report shows successful resection of accessory spleen

Successful use of the gastroduodenal FTRD® for diagnostic clarification and resection of an incidental accessory spleen found in the stomach wall

• Patient underwent an esophagogastroduodenoscopy and subsequent endoscopic ultrasound, which revealed a submucosal gastric lesion
• The lesion was successfully resected using the gastroduodenal FTRD without complications
• Gastroduodenal FTRD enabled diagnostic clarification: pathology results confirmed the presence of an accessory spleen extending into the deep tissue

• Patient: 54-year-old woman, presenting with fatigue and iron deficiency anemia
• Medical history: Stage 2 right breast cancer at age 24, splenectomy at 30 years, total abdominal hysterectomy at age 50 due to menorrhagia
