FTRD® meta-analysis: Transforming Colorectal Care

Meta-analysis of 29 studies shows FTRD® could set new standard for endoscopic treatment in the colorectum with high R0 rate of 81.8%

Key findings

• Pooled rate for R0 resection was 81.8% (95% CI 79-84.3%, I2 56%)
• Pooled rate sub analysis for R0 resection of

  • Subepithelial lesions was 94.3% (95% CI 89.7-96.9%, I2 0%)
  • Polyps ≤ 20 mm was 80.4% (95% CI 77.4-83.2% I2 0%)
  • Polyps >20 mm was 59% (95% CI 40.1-75.6%, I2 76%)
  • Adenocarcinomas (T1) was 76.2% (95% CI 68.6-82.4%, I2 72%)

Study details
• Of the 29 studies included in the meta-analysis, 27 focused on procedures using the FTRD
• Mean procedure duration was 52.6 min (95% CI 45.4-59.8, I2 98%)
• Pooled rate of technical success (reaching target lesion and macroscopic complete resection) was 87.1% (95% CI 85.1-88.9%, I2 39%)
