Use of the SecureCap

The SecureCap, already known as part of the FBR Set and remOVE DC Cutter Set, allows safe extraction of ingested foreign objects as well as food boluses in the digestive tract. The flexibility and elasticity of the cap allow for gentle insertion into the esophagus, while its generous diameter creates optimal conditions for the complete removal of food boluses in a single step.

The SecureCap can be combined with other instruments for foreign body removal, like the FTRD® Grasper for instance. The product provides the right solution for different foreign bodies and anatomical situations. This modular compatibility increases not only the flexibility but also supports an individual response to each clinical scenario.

The SecureCap

The SecureCap is a long, elastic and transparent retrieval cap. It is available in two versions

  • SecureCap 12 (for the upper GI tract; compatible with endoscopes with a diameter of 9.5 – 12 mm)
  • SecureCap 14 (for the lower GI tract; compatible with endoscopes with a diameter of 12 – 14 mm)

and comes in a package of five. The SecureCap is also part of the FBR Set as well as the remOVE DC Cutter Set.

Application of the SecureCap

Step 1: The SecureCap is mounted onto the endoscope tip

Step 2: The endoscope, with the fitted SecureCap, is guided by sight to the foreign body or clip fragment.

Step 3: The foreign body or the clip fragment is carefully drawn into the SecureCap and retrieved from the body. This method ensures that the remOVE Grasper securely holds the foreign body or the clip fragment in the SecureCap as the endoscope is retracted.

Example *:
