Ovesco launches AWC®duo

The AWC®duo is an innovative product for flexible endoscopy that combines an additional working channel with a flexible spacer cap. It can be used for a variety of endoscopic procedures, including resection techniques such as Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) and Endoscopic Submucosal Resection (ESD).

The AWC®duo, the evolution of the AWC®, is now available in all European countries, with other countries soon to follow.

How does the AWC®duo work?
The AWC®duo is attached and fixed to the outside of the endoscope. It consists of various components, including the flexible, transparent spacer cap, which provides a good view of the target area, and a working channel with a diameter of 3.5 mm for instruments with a diameter of up to 3.2 mm. It is suitable for colonoscopes and gastroscopes and allows bimanual work with conventional single-channel endoscopes.

Who profits from the use of the AWC®duo?
Both experienced users and beginners can benefit from the AWC®duo. It offers optimum support for a wide range of techniques.
For beginners, the additional working channel allows the use of an additional instrument, such as a grasper, for more traction. With the help of these +techniques (EMR+, Hybrid ESD+ and ESD+) these demanding resection procedures are facilitated while at the same time simplifying the learning process
Advanced users benefit from the freedom offered by the AWC®duo. The flexible spacer cap enables classic ESD, while the additional channel is always available for other instruments such as graspers, which can be of benefit in difficult locations, for large lesions or simply to save time.

For which procedures is the AWC®duo used?
The AWC®duo can be helpful for all endoscopic procedures that benefit from working with two instruments simultaneously. This includes, for example, resection techniques such as EMR and ESD, but also clip removal through the simultaneous use of a grasper to fix the clip in place and hemostasis through the additional lumen for suction and irrigation.
